Puget Sound SSI Resource Consortium--King & Snohomish Counties

The Puget Sound SSI Resource Consortium was founded in March 1990 and has provided training to more than 3,000 advocates for the disabled. The goals and objectives of the Consortium are to inform and educate advocates regarding SSI issues, provide training on the SSI eligibility and application process, coordinate and provide services to special client populations, provide a forum for agencies to network and to coordinate programs serving the same client base.

The Consortium encompasses King and Snohomish Counties. Training sessions are held quarterly and are hosted by local Social Security Managers of the Seattle, Kent, Burien, Everett, Lynnwood and Bellevue offices.

South Sound SSI Resource Consortium--Kitsap, Mason, Pierce & Thurston Counties

The South Sound SSI Consortium was founded in 1999 for the Olympia, Tacoma and Bremerton Districts. The steering committed includes the Social Security Administration (SSA), Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Disability Determination Services (DDS), representatives from congressional offices serving the South Sound area and several other agencies.

The consortium holds four trainings per year - two in Tacoma and one each in Olympia and Bremerton. The session provides a general overview of Supplemental Security Income (SSI). It also includes information on disability determination and public assistance and how it relates to SSI.

Inland Northwest Resource Awareness Consortium--Eastern Washington & Idaho Panhandle

The Inland Northwest Resource Awareness (INRAC) Consortium consists of representatives from several community organizations and government agencies that provide public benefits and services in Eastern Washington and the Idaho panhandle. The Consortium was founded in the summer of 1999. Members of the Consortium meet monthly to train local agencies, public & private interest groups, client advocates, ...etc about the wide range of public services the various member agencies administer.
