Pennsylvania 7th Congressional District Veterans Summit

Representative Joe Sestak’s Pennsylvania 7th Congressional District Veterans Summit will take place on Monday, March 8, 2010. The Summit will provide direct access for Veterans, Active Duty Military members and their families to the Department of Veterans Affairs and more than forty other agencies, organizations, and companies that serve them.

Old Dover Days Festival

Saturday, May 1 is the 77th Anniversary of the "Old Dover Days Festival." Festival fun includes concerts, crafts, food vendors, parade, pet parade, car show, Amish quilt auction, maypole dancing and historic house tour.  Festival admission and parking is FREE and takes place at Legislative Mall, The Green and Downtown Dover.

Senior Celebration in the Park

Allegheny County is hosting its annual Senior Celebration in the Park, an interactive health and wellness expo for mature County residents, on Wednesday, May 5. The three main focuses of the event are health screenings, informational resources and engaging activities. The celebration will feature FREE transportation from all 61 Allegheny County senior centers, FREE enhanced box lunches, ongoing LIVE entertainment, cooking demonstrations, and much more.

50+ Expo

The Northern Lancaster County 50+ Expo will host local exhibitors, provide entertainment, health screenings and seminars focused on the interests of people age 50 and up. The expo is open to the public and admission and parking are free.

Al Servicio de la Comunidad

The Latino Catholic Community of Pittsburgh is holding its sixth annual fair, “Al Servicio de la Comunidad” on Sunday May 16, 2010. The fair is free and open to the public. “Al Servicio de la Comunidad,offers the Spanish-speaking community the opportunity to learn about the different services available to them, as well as to offer some valuable information regarding health, housing, education, banking and other important matters related to their livelihood. The fair fosters a sense of community celebration by including typical food items for sale and children’s activities.

The African American Festival

The African American Festival "Positively Dover" will celebrate its 20th year in Dover on June 26, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  The event is held at Legislative Mall located in downtown Dover.  The event will provide a host of food and cultural vendors from the tri-state area.  Entertainment will feature jazz, gospel, African drummers, dancers, poetry and other artistic forms.  "Positively Dover" is a family program focused on education, information, and family values.  The artistic venue is designed to entertain, educate and fascinate. Over 20,000 people are expected to attend.  Attendance is FREE.
